HS Alliance Intelligent multiservice Systems

HS solution is called HS Alliance Intelligent Multiservice System (HAIMS).
HAIMS utilizes an architecture known as TriPlaneArchtecture made up of
the data plane, the control plane and the management plane which intro-
duces the right balance of intelligence throughout the network. It supports
a mix of "legacy" and "next generation" network devices, accommodates
the security and QoS policies associated with large networks, seamlessly
integrate with the wired network systems, services, applications, gateways
across the networks and provide interface for third-party radius and billing
applications to enhance fee based internet access. It consists of central
equipment that controls all nodes devices and managed from a centralized
location.

Each node equipment ( e.g. faculty) are connected to the central point either
wirelessly or wired and works with a third-party AAA and billing servers
(pre-paid feature) to validate users. With this architecture, wired LAN users
as well wireless LAN users are authenticated and authorized to have access
to specified time block defined on different security policies. To enhance data
security and confidentiality from different user community, there is a preference
module known as Virtual Service Community (VSC) that define access levels
for each user community.

HS Communications limited has developed a working agreement with EMW
South Africa to provide smart and secured convergence network solutions to
industries. EMW SA provides distribution of high end convergence 'Smart
Network' equipment which enables the promise of efficient, secure, reliable,
and high performance networks in support of security, network management,
visual surveillance, Broadband Wireless, and Voice over IP requirements.
